Christmas

Yes it's July and I this girl is already blogging about Christmas! In fact, I was already Facebooking about Christmas on June 29th! I am usually pretty stoked about Christmas under normal circumstances, but Christmas 2011 isn't going to be normal. It's going to be extraordinary! Kevin and I will be spending this Christmas at the foot of the Bavarian Alps at Edelweiss Lodge and Resort!!!

I really don't think there is a more fitting place to spend Christmas. (although it literally just occurred to me that this will make 2 Christmases in a row spend in a hotel... hmmm) 
When Kevin and I spent the night there a few months back first thing I thought when we walked in, is that this would be the best place to spend Christmas. Well, as you can imagine they are pretty popular around that time of year. We asked the desk and they said they have a lottery for rooms; you had to request a room starting May 1st and wait to hear... So that's what I did and we found out two days ago we got chosen! In fact we got two rooms! We're excited at the possibility of having my in-laws there with us! Nothing better than a Bavarian Christmas spent with family!

I'm not sure I've blogged with more exclamation marks in all my life. Or said "excited" or "stoked" more. haaa

Can't I just skip it...?

or AT LEAST postpone/reschedule until for another day. You see yesterday (May 1st) was the 26th anniversary of my birth. It was sucky and rather great all the same time. My husband knows I love birthdays. So, even though he's half a world away in Afghanistan he's been plotting and planning for about 2 weeks to make this day special for me. He sent me gorgeous flowers:

And was planning a surprise party for me with the assistance of my sister and mother. However, the problem with a surprise party is that the person you're surprising doesn't know about it. So, trying to now completely skip my birthday this year I sent out a request to get some friends together at The Melting Pot. Kinda ruined the surprise shin-dig. Boo. After I "ruined" (more like rescheduled, unknowingly) my surprise I had to work on Saturday night. Usually Saturdays are kind of heavy at work. I figured "why bother taking it off though, I'll be home around 230 and press on with my day. Nope! It was "label night" we had to change over 5000 labels in the commissary. I left at 4... I was like people "it's 4.. and it's my Birthday and I really don't want to sleep the entire thing away." they were like "ok homie... beat it". So basically my day consisted off homework and sleep. Thank God for my Momma though! She got some goodies and her and my sis gave me some gifts so I had a lil birthday celebration! I tried to make the best out of the day I was dealt and my husband helped me out a lot with that. :)

Another bit of news I wish I could skip is the fact that Osama bin Laden is dead. I mean, great job troops ! But forgive me for being concerned for those still in Afghanistan. It amazes me that people "forgot" or simply "don't care" that there are still 1000's of troops there. I guess it just doesn't occur to people that there could be retaliation. hmmm. 

I'll be sitting here thinking happy thought- trying to convince myself that everything will be ok. 

The New Years that could have been

I can lie to myself and you all and say it was just "low-key" but really we didn't do a.damn.thing. I was asleep by 1030 and watched the ball drop (via AFN) at 8AM (Midnight MST). All I can do is keep my rocking' awesome ideas handy for next year and know that everything will be different 364 days from now. 

Hope you all had a great 2010 and had a blast bringing in 2011--- here's to a great year! 

I Want it Wednesday...

I know I haven't done this in a while... and everyone misses knowing exactly what I want at any given moment. Well here's a Christmas Edition of "I want.." for ya:

I want....

Jack Wolfskin- Ontario Parka for Women. In Black please!

I want... More than anything our apartment to be ready on post. I want... to unpack our dishes, pots and pans. I want... to make my bed and climb into it at night. I want... to cook- I miss my pasta. I want... to be in a different room than my husband, not only because he's at work but because I have the option.

I still want... diamond earrings I asked for last year.

I want... my sister to start using her camera, because it's virtually band new and never been used before. Also, because (hut-umm) I'm half-way around the world now but still want to see what's going on (for example, the kiddo's at the Zoo for Christmas fun!).

White Christmas

OK, so I attempted to post our 5-day weather forecast as well as the above photo. Alas, it didn't work. Since we arrived in Germany the amount of snow on the ground has doubled! The day before we landed in Frankfurt, they had to close the airport for a few hours, due to the weather- that's saying something, considering folks in this neck of the woods are used to the snow! All the same, there's anywhere from 3-4 feet on the ground. 

Over the course of the next five days the temperature will not reach 40 degrees (f) and a snow/rain mixture is 60% likely (or more) each day. Hello, White Christmas. 

I have to say that in all my years (I'm so dramatic, aren't I? As if, I am so old, haha) in Colorado we very rarely had White Christmases. Yes, it's Colorado and one would assume, Mountains=snow. Well, not all of Colorado is covered with the beautiful Rocky Mountains... a good chunk is honestly plains. My point is that I finally have a white christmas looming and it's very bitter sweet. 

First, I'm so blessed to just have Kevin home with me and that him and I are together for this Christmas. However, we're halfway around the world from all of our family, we have none of our belongings, no real options for making a nice meal, no decorations. 

So while I'm looking forward to celebrating with Cup O Noodles, a game of cards and a lot of webcamming with the families! 

Thankgiving Recap

I hope everyone had a great holiday. Remember when I told you that I was volun-told to tackle our Thanksgiving feast? Well I handled it!

From the far left: Gravy, Twice Baked Potatoes, Corn, Stuffing, Turk, Rolls... We also had ravioli's which aren't pictured but were still delicious! Other than my Aunt bringing the Stovetop and my Pop's cleaning out the Turkey I did everything! I'm proud.

I paid for it later though... I had the most horrible Heartburn of my life... I was literally up in tears at 1AM. It resolved after a desperate phone call to a 24/7 nurses hot line and Kevin went to Walmart at 1am for some medication! All is well now though.

Did you do Black Friday? Well I did- after not sleeping for crap with the worlds-worst-heartburn! Quick rundown: KMart was a disaster (didn't get anything- wasn't worth it), stood in line at Best Buy for an hour (mom picked up an ereader and a wireless surround sound for my sis' xmas present), Target wasn't too bad, I bit the bullet and get Kevin an Xbox (which I now regret and LOATH!). We didn't get out until 7 but we still got some great deals... well the people I was with got some great deals...  I hung out, half conscious, haaHA!

Don't worry I know I didn't list any great steals for myself. No need to fret after a 2 hour nap the hubs and I went back out and picked up some shizzle for me, MAC Makeup Brushes, A lil' key and Sony Noise-Canceling Headphones (for $40, woootwoot). Needless to say, Christmas came early and we're DONE-ZO!

You know what it is...

You had to know I was going to blog today about Veterans Day. Today I thought I would share a few photos with you. I thought I'd start by saying, whenever I thought of a Vet I pictured this:

Another handsome fella- if I do say so, myself! My point is... somehow I always associated "veteran" with other generations. Today I'm not cashing in on sales from retailers, today I'm at home while my husband spends his Veteran's Day "working". Today he's doing everything he can to get a shit-bag out of the Army. Today, about 8 guys from the Troop are packing and moving this soldier and his wife out of their on-post housing, because they're (the soldier and his wife) are too stubborn or stupid to realize their time with the Army is severely limited due to the fact that the soldier is allergic to acting right (or something). Today, I'm so proud of my husband for having the ability to hold his tongue, suck it up and do what needs to be done.

Today, I'm reminded that some of our countries veterans weren't supported by other Americans. Today, I am also reminded that my husband's service isn't honored and respected by some. Today, I tell those people (on Kevin's behalf) you're welcome. You're welcome that people stronger and more dedicated than you fought and still fight for your right to be ungrateful.

To my veteran and all others I say THANK YOU! 

The Trifecta

The Trifecta: No Dog. No Husband. No Sleep.

All that plus being in a strange bed in a house I haven't slept in, in over 4 years... last night sucked. You'd think that would be an aspect of my life I'd grow used to. You'd think. Maybe it's only a matter of time? Maybe some are just better at that aspect than I am?

On top of that, I'm usually pretty spirited about Christmas. This year it's just something I probably won't be able to celebrate. I'm just wondering why the retailers are torturing me with Christmas decor?

(short story: I was walking through Target last Thursday with Erin and LB noticing all the decor and talking about what gifts we'd purchase this year. Well, all of it was really overwhelming. I want to decorate my house for Christmas like I did last year. Nevertheless, I was pouting in the Target. I was so sad that I couldn't really participate. Sucks.)

I wish they just could have held off until after I left the country. Whenever I leave the house I have reminders everywhere I go that I won't be home for Christmas (and all that comes along with it). On top of not being home Kevin and I may not have any of our household good until December 29th... yea, do the math.

I'm trying to remind myself that it's going to be great. It'll be Kevin and I, and we're make it special just by being together. Ho, Ho, Ho.

We did it

Ok, so even though I changed my mind and didn't want to do anything special for Valentine's Day my hubby made reservations for dinner at The Cliff House in nearby Manitou Springs. Kevin and I have been to the Cliff House twice before; once for my company's Christmas party and the first time we attempted to have a special stay there. The Cliff House Hotel not only has 5-star dining but has also won the AAA's 4 Diamond award since 2001!! This place is amazing. I had the had the Black Truffle stuffed Blue Cheese topped Bison Filet and Kevin tried the Duck. I don't remember the specifics of his- well because I didn't choose it. It was served with steamed spinach which is not something I'm interested in and we shared a great bottle for German Riesling. All in all we had a great night. Maybe doing something special for V-Day isn't so bad after all?

Other than that I'm thrilled over tonight's Keeping Up With The Kardashian's! WAKE UP KOURTNEY! Scott is the biggest douchebag on the planet.

And in this coming week my brother-in-law will be returning from his most current deployment from Afghanistan. Well really in the coming 24-hours! I'm excited for his return not only for the obvious reasons but also because my sister is ready to pop! She's a whopping 9 months pregnant and also Nathan needs his Daddy back home. Can't wait to see his little face!!! Hopefully I'll get a few good pics!

The V-Day

Are you guys into Valentines? If yes, why? If no, why?

Well you guessed it. I'm not such a Valentine’s Day fan. And you probably know why... well partially.

When I was younger no one wanted me to be their Valentine- well except for my BESTEST Valentine EVER: MY DADDY!

This bummed me out. Made me feel sad... :(

Then as years went by and I did have someone on Valentine’s Day I felt like it was just a silly-overly-cheesy "holiday". As someone in a relationship I thought it was kind of silly/ridiculous to have a "holiday" invented for the sole purpose of reminding us to show our love and appreciation for our significant other.

We should do this every day.

Should being the operative word.

All that being said, I haven't celebrated Valentine's Day since I've known my husband; haven't forced him to get all dolled up, take me someplace fancy where we may or may not even enjoy the meal. This year I was feeling like I wanted my hubby to plan something special/unique for us to do together. I was talking to a girlfriend about it and we decided after some conversation that I needed to tell Kevin about this; that he wouldn't just assume this year were different and take the initiative on his own.

Guess what I did?

I told Kevin I wanted to go out this year and that I wanted him to plan it!

AND (of course) I changed my mind!

So whether you choose to celebrate your love on the 14th of February or not remember to express your love and affection towards your special someone then and everyday!!

Deuces Up 2009!

I know that I'm not the only blogger or person on the planet inspired to reflect today. Please bare with me while I take a look back at the past year:

Jan 2009: I began this year with my husband, actually! Kevin arrived home 29 Dec 2008 for R&R. This was a huge surprise for me. I made Kevin tell me when he made it to Kuwait. Beyond that I had no idea when I would hear form him again! This was a huge feet for Kevin. He kind of, basically, sucks at keeping any kind of secret. So, for him to keep such a big one filled with so much surprise and excitement was great for him! Thankfully I was able to ring in 2009 (although, in not so much style- there was a lot of sleeping going on, hahaha) with my man!

Feb 2009: I started my lovely blog! My husband was back in Iraq with a long 8 months still ahead. My neighbor deployed to Iraq. :(

March 2009: Brought birthdays: My Hubs (on St. Patty's day) and my Ma! With some important people in my life aging one year more, March also brought about the half-way mark to a 12 month deployment! Wooop Woop. I'll take halfway over just starting anyday! 

I also took a more active role in the FRG, which brought about a new friendship. I also embraced the power of POSITIVITY! Our First Lady stepped out and announced she would be an advocate for military families everywhere, KUDOS! 

Kevin met up with our neighbor in Baghdad! Thankfully, she had her camera and snapped a picture- one of the only ones I have from my husband's deployment! We love Nikki! :) March also brought my first dose of drama in blog-land. Well, I brought it upon myself. That's ok with me though, it wasn't the first time... 

April 2009: I reached a whopping 10 followers! Woop Wooop! I watched Taking Chance for the first time with a fellow army wife. Sorta not smart- while you're soldier is deployed. My husband did the SWEETEST thing! My second dose of blogger drama ensued. OIy... Lets just say it wouldn't be wise to refer to a Marine as a "soldier". It appears Guardsmen, reservists, airmen are still on the fence. Call them soldier, Navy Seal, Marine... whatevs. They apparently have no preference. You learn something new everyday huh? GASP! The drama motivated me to lose my mind/cancel blog for a SHORT period of time! I know it's awful. All's well that ends well! I'm back and here to stay. A friend reminded me of who I am and that just because people are nasty to you, tell lies and attempt to destroy you they can go f%3k themselves because I'm here to stay! If you don't like it MOVE ON! 

Most important event of April 2009: I saw Twilight and was officially sucked into the nonsense!!! lol

May 2009: Began (literally on the 1st... pencil it in- buy me stuff) with a celebration of my birth! :) I reached a weight loss goal! Oprah looked absolutely awful on TV! Military Spouse Appreciation Day ( May 8th). Finally discussed my wedding/ honeymoon with a few pictures with my lovely followers! I complained about the chow my husband was being fed in Basra. KBR passed the buck. 

MOST IMPORTANT event of May: PINKBERRY.... Vaca to San Deigo! 

Plus my 100th Post Extravaganza. 

Man- May was a Big deal! :)

June 2009: Brought sadness with the passing of Kevin's Gramma. Unfortunately Kevin was not granted emergency leave to come home for the funeral. I discovered a VERY important reason why deployments SUCK! June also brought free tequila... "huh," you ask? Mr. Justin Timberlake has his own brand of tequila and after I left a message to their webmaster trying to find out where I could get Kevin a bottle I received this response:

Samantha, 

You tell me when and where to send it and we'll do everything possible to get him a bottle. In addition, tell him we are eternally grateful to you, your family and of course him for his service.

By June 16th I'd finished reading the entire Twilight series. I told you I was sucked into the nonsense in May. lol

MOST IMPORTANT EVENT: Levi, my brother-in-law deployed on his 4th deployment, this one to A-stan. :(

July 2009: Found out my sister's round of IVF was successful and I was going to be an Aunt again!!! Woo HOO! I reminded the world I wasn't put on the planet for you to judge. Went to 2 concerts in 2 days and somehow managed to lose a friend. :( Some of you may remember this. While I still can't quite wrap my mind around why this happened I can't fix or change it. I wish her well still, and at times miss her and her family. While I wish it could be different it's not up to me to mend. With that July came and went. 

August 2009: Only thing that matters: MY HUSBAND CAME HOME!!!!!!!

While the return of my husband was definitely most important, I can't look back at August without mentioning the birth of "I WANT IT WEDNESDAY". 

Sept 2009: Brought on many travels for us! Portland, Jersey and Vegas! We also celebrated our 2 year anniversary! This was our first anniversary together, as Kevin deployed only 13 days before our first anniversary. 

I love him. 

The fall of 2009: We discovered my sister was having a baby girl. Then we discovered during a 3d ultrasound my sister wasn't having a girl but baby boy #2! I made peace with the name Caden. Spent a holiday season with my Husband. I'm a lucky girl.

Christmas Eve

So I've been complaining for at least a week about the lack of snow around these parts. However I failed to report we did get some decent snow Monday Night! Awww isn't it pretty??? Sadly the forecast doesn't call for any more snow today for the Eve but we should get some more flakes falling come the evening of Christmas (no pun intended- lol Evening of versus Eve. Please disregard I'm sure I'm the only one who was amused by that). 

Whether you are having a White Christmas (which I'm watching as we speak) where you are or not I'm wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and hoping that you are with loved ones. Also, reminding all my readers Milspouses and civilians alike to keep our military in your prayers and thoughts today. They, and the families left behind sacrifice so much, especially this time of year.

'Tis the Season

So the football game was great. I was growing more and more apprehensive about spending the holiday out in the cold, watching live football versus with tons of family, stuffing my face with delicious food! Come Thursday afternoon I got very excited.

We went to the Bronco game in Denver (obviously).

Our seats were in the 5th section. We turn to walk up to our row. Did I mention we were in the 30th row? Literally we were 5 rows from the highest point in the stadium. When I got to around row 25 it was hard to breathe. Altitude has that effect on people. Ok it may sound like I'm bitching and complaining. But truly and honestly it was great. Minus the shortness of breath... LOL!

At half-time they had the family of 3 deployed service members on the field. First, they presented them with autographed footballs from the team. THEN they had 2 of the 3 service members on the BIG TV! It was a surprise to the families. Sgt. Nathan (something- I forgot his last name) said hi to his family and "Go Broncos" then his parents all choked up told him to come home safe and sooner than later!

I proceeded to cry.

It was way better than Daughtry... or some other musical act. It was perfect.

Anyone participate in the Black Friday nonsense? AT 1045 PM the highway was backed up; stop and go at the outlet mall just north of Colorado Springs. I certainly hope that's because they were opening at Midnight. I didn't venture out at the ass-crack of dawn for but I did find myself out and about during the course of this weekend. I got flipped the bird, almost ran off the road, considered following someone home (because they almost ran me off the road), flipped a few other drivers the bird, parked farther away from the Target than normal... 'Tis the Season.

While I do love this time of year because of the decorations and general festiveness... I hate the aggressive nature of being out in the world. It makes me hostile... GrrrR!

I Want it Wednesday...

So it's Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving.

(DUH)

But I'll be running around, like a crazy-chicken-with-my-head-cut-off tomorrow so will probably not have time to wish everyone a VERY happy and blessed Thanksgiving Holiday!

What I want to do today is take some time and count my blessings. Considering that tomorrow is Thanksgiving I feel so thankful for my many blessings. I have my family close by and my husband home this year. We have our health and thankfully Kevin has a solid career. Eventhough my job search has been less than fruitful, we have more than some.

My life is a work in progress; many things may not be perfect but it works for right now. I am so lucky to have all that I have in my life.

I have always loved the idea of Thanksgiving. Taking some time to be thankful for all that you do have versus crying out for things that dont truly matter. (ie. the material things="I want it wednesday").

I do know how blessed I am but that doesn't mean I don't want for things. I'm not that enlightened. :)

So... without further ado

Such a busy life i lead

See updates: I finally pried Kev's computer from his hands so that I can blog/edit. :)

First; my laptop is screwed 8 ways from Sunday. Within 1 minute of turning it on I have countless virus warnings informing me that my computer is infected with this Trojan or that virus. It's bad.S o right now I'm updating from my Blackberry.

I've had quite the hectic week: getting situated at the job, acclimating to the schedule, ect. Friday I go into the office and they tell me that the girl who had given notice and was going to quit has changed her mind. Old girl was staying so I was out on my keester. Within minutes of being axed (from a job too far from home anyway, staffed by the oddest bunch of weirdos on the planet) I find out Kevin passed his flight physical and is fit for flight!!!!! Such a bitter sweet day. I'm so happy and proud for Kevin!

After that we hit New Moon at 1030 AM on Saturday morning. Here I was thinking I was smarter than the average bear; "we'll go Saturday AM beause its Saturday, no one will be awake and functioning for the 1st showing of the day and its a way better idea than attenpting to go Friday night" I said. Ppshhhh! Imagine my surprise pulling up to the theater at 930AM (on a Saturday) and found a line of oh, 100 people!!!! Waiting to get into the teather theater lobby then make their way to the correct theater and find a seat. It was craziness. I've never seen such a thing before! It was hilarious. I thought it was overkill that I was there an hour early. Evidently, not early enough! All the same we followed the hoards of tweens into the theater and settled in for New Moon.

I was thoroughly excited to see it but somehow the theater full of over-the-top giggy giddy teen-age girls ruined the experience for me. They were slightly too cheesy for my liking. I mean, really they applauded the movie when the Summit logo appeared on screen. UGH! Gag. The squeeling squealing girls aside I did enjoy the movie. I don't know about you but I'm glad they got rid of the first director and her blue screen. New Moon was much easier to look at! :)

Ok, so far: I got fired, killed my computer, found out Kevin is physically able to fly and joined 100's of horny-tweens to swoon over fictional vampires and werewolves.

Next; pre-thanksgiving, Thanksgiving dinner at my Dads. On Thursday I'll be at Mile High Stadium watching the Giants battle the Broncos with my dad, his GF and the Hubs. Yea, look for me. I'll be the one freezing my sweet-lil ass off in the nose-bleeds! Wooop woop! Sounds like Thanksgiving to me!! I'm excited. T-day is one of the biggest football days of the year and I'll be there with my 2 favorite men!

So, today we had turkey and all the trimmings at my father's. It was yummmy! I'm stoke about open-faced sandwhiches sandwiches as left-overs tomorrow.

Alright, I'm getting the carpol-tunnel from this lil keyboard. I have to rest up to ensure I get everything accomplished this coming (short) week that built up while I was working. Ha! The workin' man's a sucker!" at least that's what they taught me in A Bronx Tale. ;)

Beep, Beep... Back the Truck Up!

As previously stated I've been M.I.A. lately and there's been a TON going on. Such as:

Veteran's Day with my soldier. Kevin and I watched Taking Chance together. He didn't seem overly touched by it on any level but it touched me, deeply. I felt so lucky to have my husband and soldier home safe and unscaved. I know that I am truly blessed to have him return home to me. On the other hand I did very much miss Levi. We do every day.

Happy Veteran's Day to all our Vet's out there.

Tomorrow I start my new job! Yes, that's right all after a year of being unemployed a great opportunity has come my way! I am so grateful and excited to start this new position. It's a job that I'm familiar with; a skill that I have and if the company likes me it will be a very nice pay raise. So wish me luck! After I attend Traffic court tomorrow morning I will have half-a-day at my new job!! :)

My BFF is PREGNANT! Yup, she's about 8 weeks along now. Due in July! Yes, you guessed it everyone around me is pregnant... but me of course.

Kevin and I have been talking a lot about what comes next for us. What we want to do next and where we want to be. Kevin and I agreed that we would both love to be stationed in Germany. We think it would be a great adventure for us. But we are still kind of in a holding pattern with Kevin's Warrant Officer application process. He has completed the Flight Physical and we are waiting for word back on that; whether or not he is "fit for flight". Fingers crossed!!!

Thankfully, I think that's all I had to catch people up on. No no... I do have to mention the release of New Moon next Friday. We are a whopping 8 days away! Yeah, I'm a loser... and I've definitely made peace with that.

Weekend in Review

First, I wanted to point out that my hubby is at PT at 530 (Local/Colorado time); Granny is in New Jersey (NJ) where they are 2 hours ahead= 730 AM! (-;

Okie dokie, I'm not sure how you all spent your weekend or what you did. *wink wink* But mine started off dragging (just about literally) Kevin to the doctor. You see, he's been sick since Tuesday. He went to sick call where the PA didn't deem him sick enough to actually see him. The medic sent him back to regular duty with some useless scripts. Come Saturday morning and he was still coughing up a lung... yes, I MADE him go to the doctor. The Urgent Care place I went to last time. The doc was originally very concerned about Flu. Thankfully, he tested negative for both seasonal and H1N1 flues. So the doc sent us on our way with an antibiotic for either walking pneumonia or bronchitis. She said that it wouldn't be necessary to do the x-ray (in order to confirm pneumonia) because the meds that were prescribed treat both.

So our Halloween plans were canceled and we laid around the house. Kevin had a few hot-totties and we watched some TV. We had no candy but that worked out we didn't have not even one trick or treater! Phew... bullet-dodged!

PS: When I was at wally-world picking up Kevin’s prescriptions there was a MOUSE running around the Pharmacy and waiting area! yuck.

Sunday consisted of the laziest day in a long time. We hung around the house again. That basically sums it up. Hey, no reason I shouldn’t rest because Kevin was sick- right?

Today is my Daddy's birthday! Tonight I'm having everyone over for dinner. My Dad is one of my favorite people on the planet. I've always been a Daddy's girl.

My Husband; The Kiss Ass Favorite

My husband is usually out of the house by 5AM everyday. He is rather obsessed with being ridiculously early on-time for PT (if nothing else). He was parked and ready to go at 530 this AM. With nothing else to do he desides to pick up the phone and call my Granny (in NJ). While I do find this adorable, I also think it makes him a total kiss ass! ;-) And I'm good with that. All the same, he is now my Granny's favorite person on the planet. Good-for-him! Laa-T-da.

Happy Halloween. While it may not be my cup of tea, the majority of people enjoy it, so be safe and have fun out there!

BOOO-Hum-Bug!!

So here goes: I kinda... sorta... all-the-way despise Halloween.

Yea, you heard me!!! Whacha gonna do bout it?

I think it's a big-fat waste. Before my nephew was born we avoided it with dinner and movie. Since his birth it's adorable to see him dress up as Shrek (goodness, he was the cutest lil' Shrek EVER! Awwwwwww) and something last year; see I don't even remember what it was, but I'll tell ya that Shrek was sure unforgettable. Ok, So I understand why this is fun for the kiddos and why adults use it as an excuse to get wasted but this 'holiday' is still just not my style.

Carving pumpkins is fun though. Yeah, I'm kind of random. I just wanted everyone to be aware of my feelings on the whole Halloween subject.
