Sad

Somethings have been making me very sad for about a week. I had this very good friend during middle and high school. Her name was Erin. She was my best friend. In high school we drifted slightly we both extended our group of friends-- separately. Anyway the summer after graduation I made one nasty, and admittedly unnecessary comment to her about her new set of friends. I don't remember specifically what I said but it was ugly of me. I called her multiple times to apologize and smooth things over. However, she literally never spoke to me again. I even called her while my parents were splitting up. I left her a message and told her about my parents and said I really would like to catch up with her. Nothing. No response. (me=sad). I requested her on Facebook about a year ago, on a whim. She accepted but clearly had no interest in rekindling our friendship. She didn't comment on my status when I moved to Germany, she didn't care enough to say anything when Kevin deployed.

Well, here's why I'm sad. She got married last Friday. I just keep thinking that I don't get why if we were such good friends she would write me off FOR-EV-VER because I said one nasty thing. I have good friends and sometimes I say not nice things to them and vice versa but you call them on it and move on- turn the page you know? I just felt like I should have been there, at her wedding.
 *~~~*
Another situation making me sad: my other friend Kaitlyn got some very bad news at her ultrasound last week. She'll have twin girls Dec/January. However, tragically one of the babies has a genetic syndrome which is fatal. Prayers are very much appreciated.

Don't forget to count your blessings!!

Baby Time

No no... this is NOT a "Baby on Board" Announcement. Haa! I know my mother-in-law (who reads everyday) was just slightly offended she didn't get a phone call versus being told of her next impending grandchild via Blogger. All the same, I am now the only person that I know and actively hang out with that doesn't have a child. As a matter of fact most everyone in my age group is on child numero-dos. I'm 26. I don't feel old. I've been married 3.5 years but have only spent about 1.75 of those years with my husband (if i'm lucky). You know, Deployments, NTC, other trainings and travels. However, I have had "the fever" come and go, and come and go.... you follow.

I remember when I first got married everyone was like "YAY! When are you gonna get pregnant?" I just don't get that school of thought. Why does my being married mean that I have to immediately procreate? Oddly, enough I wanted to get to know my husband, strengthen our marriage and relationship as a whole with Kevin, get to know my new life and role as a wife, make peace with the Army, finish school, travel about, start a career and generally just live more of my life prior to it being taken over by my babies. That's my take. I do not feel there is anything wrong with having children right away.. just didn't feel it was for me.

When did you have your baby(s)? Did you wait? Did you get on the ball immediately?

Share why!

Bad News

Being so far away from home definitely has it good moments and it's BAD! We're the kind of family that is  (sometimes overly) involved in each other lives. We gossip about each other (in the best way possible, i mean we're only trying to find out if everything is ok or if so-and-so really did that to her!), but we also love each other. when I was out of work for almost 2 years I built very strong relationships with my sister and her kiddos. When my brother-in-law was deployed I was her surrogate husband during her pregnancy with Logan and was there for everything. I loved being able to be there for the ultrasounds and for the scary bits and last minute ER runs. I like to think of my self as that go-to person. I loved it. I really like to help my family out when they need it the most. With that being said our baby (yes, he isn't just 'theirs' he's Ours- as a collective) Logan has been in the hospital for 4 days now.
Isn't he the cutest? (little boobies and all) We like our babies chubby (no offense to the skinny ones ou there). My sister emailed me this picture two days ago. I cried. I can't believe under his little tear-drop eyes is a nasal cannula!

Logan has been diagnosed with RSV (so far they are waiting for the doctor to review the chest x-ray to see what else is going on). He was admitted because his oxygen levels were in the 80's (should be 100). We're worried about possible Asthma or pneumonia at this point. (fun fact: I was in and out of the hospital as an infant with asthma related complications.. was not a fun time to be or my mother- only difference is, I don't remember it. Thanks mom!)

Many prayers and thoughts are needed!!

NEWSS!!!

Ok, so I have some news. When I said this to my mother she thought I was going to tell her I was pregnant with a baby girl! But well, that's not the news. The news is that Kevin has temporary/conditional orders!!! To where, you ask? GERMANY!!!!
I am thrilled with this prospect and couldn't be more hopeful.
The orders are conditional on Kevin's chain of command all signing off on lifting his fence. We can't figure out why he's fenced into his current unit... No one can figure it out. All the same we're waiting for about another two weeks for the final answer! Keep your fingers crossed people. If all works out we'd PCS in November. Wowzas!

So you all know I started a job 3 weeks ago, right? Evidently I found a job with the only company in town with no military affiliated people! I swear this is the least military-savy group of people I have ever met. The other day one of my co-workers was shocked when I told them that my husband is up and out of the house by 430 everyday. "WHY?!" he asks. "PT" I said. "What's that?" He says. "Seriously?" I say.
It only gets worse from there.
I explain to my *ignorant co-worker that there's a war going on and they have practice their running so that they're conditioned if they should have to run to and fro to ensure their personal safety.
Duh.
Just saying.

Have you heard about what Iraq and Afghanistan Veteran's of America (IAVA) is doing with Miller High Life?
They're teaming up for the sole purpose of giving back to Vets. Head over to their website and take a look in the Rucksack to search for events in your area. They're giving away tickets to events such as MLB games, NFL games and Nascar events. Head over to the website for more details on how to participate.

I know I'm really cramming a lot into this one post but I HAVE to share with everyone that my Best Friend, Amanda had her first baby last Friday the 25th!! I can't believe it but she's really somebody's mother! It's intense and I'm happy for her and her family.
Baby Matthew Alan was born at 836 PM EST. Weighing in at 7.36 LBS and 18" long.
I love you Manda... and my new Godson Matthew!
Go check out my guest blogging the day Matthew was born.

1 more day of work before a week off for vacation. (less than) 2 days until ECLIPSE! Yes I'm mother-effing excited about that. And 3 days until our vacation to SAN DIEGO!
woooooo
I'm one excited girl.
but I'm headed to bed.
G'night!

Baby Names

Are you protective over names that you have picked out for your future spawn*?
Where you protective over the names you picked out while you were prego??

Well, I have a short story to share with everyone:
Last night I found out a girl I was semi-friends with in High School is pregnant with Twins. She asked for name suggestions, and since this is one of my semi-new favorite past-times I sent a few options. Names I like but are a bit further down on my list. I would never share my first choice names with random folks. Because, well, I'm protective over them! It rather tweaked my melon when one of her other FB homies suggested both my first choice names for boys and girls!

Here's hoping she didn't like either of them...
And hoping her other FB homie stubs her toe today!
Because, Karma is real.
(hahaa, laugh people it's a joke).

Happy Sunday!

*just a friendly reminder, I sometimes refer to children/babies as "spawn"... but as always it's meant with love and adoration.

I Want it Wednesday...

I want...
to know when name-calling became commonplace in Washington?
Maybe it's always been there? Maybe I've just began to pay enough attention to notice it?
Seriously GOP... nothing better to do than call names. Where-o-where are the facts?
just curious, I simply Want to know.

I want...
to thank Jessica, from The (Mis)Adventures of an Army Wife for my latest award:
Upon receiving this award, I am to share 7 things about myself and then pass it on to some other fantabulous bloggers.
1) I have a total of 6 tru-blu, honest to goodness friends in life right now.
The majority of which live in another state.
(shocking isn't it?)
2) I love the smell of Garlic, fresh rain and gasoline.
3) I love to clean because I can see immediate results; makes me feel successful.
4) I already have baby names picked out. So far I only truly love the ones for boys, yet I feel in my soul I'll have girls...
what's that all about?
5) I've never had a broke bone.
*knock on wood*
6) I sorta think blogger awards are lame, yet love the recognition.
I'm a walking, talking contradiction.
What else is new.
7) I just discovered Thomas Dekker 2 days ago, via My Sisters Keeper.
I've been missin' out. He's hot. Yet can be so unattractive. Strange.

I'll pass this award onto:
(1) My Bestie-McBestie, Amanda.
Haha... I popped your Bloggy-award cherry!!
;)
(2) Krista
and
(3) Amy

I want...
I blog make-over and signature.
For Free, you know because I'm broke (and jobless).

I want...
to meet a celebrity.
(preferably a HOT one, that will adopt or employ me)
I've never done that before.
(by "that" I mean, met a celebrity)
Have you?

Logan

I haven't posted ANY pictures of my baby nephew since two days after he was born! Can you believe it? I know, I'm on the verge of being a very bad Auntie!

What a difference a day makes

So Monday I was hopeful and confident that I would get a call/email, be contacted in so way informing me that I would receive an offer for the position I was interview for last week. Tuesday I was "broken up with in a email" as a friend put it. I call it "hate mail".... my sad but seemingly inevitable rejection
"What are you gonna do?" I thought.
Not out of desperation.... but just to say there isn't anything I can do about it. Remember the end of last month when I blogged about Rev Run's Words of Wisdom? Well something he says repeatedly that stuck with me, "Do your best and forget the rest." and also "Let go and let God." I'm not an overly religious person but the idea of what he's saying resonates with me especially under my current circumstances.... In my eyes these sayings are one in the same. Once you've done everything in your power you have to let go of the rest... it's out of your hands!
I have to say it wasn't all overwhelming confidence though. I did wonder how I could have been so wrong. I thought I nailed it. I'm currently pursuing a BS in Management, I answered all the questions 'right', I had great questions prepared for the interviewerS, I was over-prepared for the interview, I smiled and shook hands, AND even sent my "Thank You" note!! How could I have been so confident about this interview and been so wrong? Whatever it is, it doesn't matter! I'm doing my best (so what if it takes all of my energy and motivation) to maintain a positive attitude and keep moving forward.

In other news, my Best Friend is just a few weeks shy of her due date! I've spent some time recently picking up a few things for impending bundle of joy... I am excited for her (and me) to have her family grow!

And yes, I know it's Wednesday and you're all desperate to know what I want... but I'm sorta just not in the mood today. Other than needing to get to the gym, I want for next Tuesday to arrive. "Why is that?" you ask. Well because Next Tuesday will be girls night (he-man-man-haters-club) at my house. NO BOYS ALLOWED! Next Tuesday also marks the DVD/BluRay release of:
Which obviously I WANT!

So I'm thinking...

... that I'm the only Army wife right now who isn't pregnant and/or doesn't have a kid already.

Maybe that's a slight exaggeration but everywhere I look I see Army Wives and babies/kids.
On top of which everyone I meet and already know asks me when I'm going to have a baby. I guess it's the thing to do these days. Don't get me wrong- I understand why they ask but... well I'm just not quite there yet.

Then this morning my nephew, Nathan was supposed to have is very first soccer game on post. (I say "supposed to" because it's pretty cold and rainy today so they canceled the lil' kiddos' games) Well, I get my groggy behind out of bed and drive down to post. Since this was the beginning of the season they had a kick-off ceremony prior to the games. Picture it: A gym filled with mommies and daddies and babies galore.
Then ME! :) haha
That's when it hit me: I'm the only person on this post without a baby. Have to be.
(yes here I go exaggerating again; but that's truly how it felt and looked.)
I love being an Auntie right now and I do generally enjoy kids/babies and I'm good/comfortable with them also so it works out well, even though I'm literally the ONLY person I know without a child. Otherwise.... I'd be pretty damn lonely.

I'm baaack... for a minute..

I've finally made my way back home to CO. Helping out with all the funeral arrangements and helping Gramma make some changes was a learning experience. I'm happy that I could kind of stand back and see what things actually had to take place after someone passes away, so that when I should have to make any such arrangements I'll know what needs to be done.

I'm not sure how much time I'll have for blogging in the next few days/week. Baby Logan makes his debut tomorrow!!!! I'm sure the pregnancy went by much slower for my sister than it did for me- this seemed to pass so quickly. I'm just happy that Levi's home, my sister and the baby are healthy. After slugging it out through the tribulations of IVF it's time to welcome this lil' bundle of joy into the world!

I'll be back soon enough with pictures and more frequent updates!

Hope all is well!

What a day

Friday started off in quite the frenzy. I rolled over to my husband still asleep... I looked over to the window and the sun was up... ugh! Sun being up and my husband still being in bed during the week equals BAD! Well, he was voluntold to hit up Sam's Club for BBQ supplies. His troop was playing paint ball all day then having some burgers at 5. Needless to say my early morning scare was a gift from the Army- allowing me to sleep-in during the week with my hubs. :)

Well, after I got out of bed and got my day started the real excitement began. My sister being 35 weeks and 5 days pregnant was having pretty intense contractions. My first thought: "thank god her husband made it home 3 days ago!" My second thought: "Hmmm, he's at briefings all day. I guess I'll have to head down that way." I get to my sisters and she's in tears. I get Nathan ready to go to his friend's house for a few hours, then get Katie into the car and to the (new) Labor and Delivery floor at Evan's (on post). They hooked her up to monitors and we came to find out the baby was perfectly fine (other than being impatient), she was contracting and dilated 1 cm. We were originally told that they wouldn't give her anything to stop the contractions/labor since she was 35 weeks and 5 days. At 36 weeks she would be considered full-term and they would have delivered the baby on post. Prior to 36 weeks they would have sent us over to the local civilian hospital. All the same, they sent us home and told Katie to go back to be checked for further dilation after 4-5 hours.

*4-5 hours later*

Levi is taking Katie, who is having VERY intense (buckled-over-on-the-floor-crying) contractions back to the hospital, and I'm trying to console a very, very, very upset 3 year-old and get him to my house for dinner. Needless to say Nathan was highly upset over his dad coming home for only 10 minutes to change and take his mommy back to the hospital- cried screamed for over 30 minutes for his daddy. Separation anxiety is going to be a sad, cruel part of this child's life. :(

This time at the hospital they actually did give Katie a shot to stop the contractions. This initially made things worse on her but eventually did decrease the contractions!

Oh, did I forget to mention she has finally (thank the lord) landed on a name for my soon-to-be-new nephew?

LOGAN CHRISTOPHER

After being told she was having a girl, deciding on Madison Hope and then changing their minds to MaKenna Hope and then finally being told/seeing without a shadow of a doubt that they were in fact having another bouncing baby boy they chose Caden Christopher as this little baby's name. Well, no offence to anyone who has named their baby boy Caden or has a family member with this name I am just not such a fan. I didn't like the name from the beginning. BUT as soon as I made peace with this name and start referring to him as Caden my sister decides she isn't so thrilled with it anymore. UGH!! I wanted to scream. All the same this little bundle of joy will have a name, whenever he choosing to come screaming into our lives!
After all of that nonsense our weekend seemed to slow drastically down! Thankful for that! We made it through Katie's baby shower without the baby coming and without LAME games and still had a good turn out and a lot of fun. :)

In other news this is my 294th post! wooo... that just kind of impresses me. When I started blogging about a year ago I never thought it would last this long, that it would help me as much as it has, or that I'd actually make some pretty damn good friends because of it! 300 here we come. I'm debating on whether or not to do the whole "Question and Answer" thing... what do you think?
Time to get my Baked Ziti on the table... yummm!

Here we go!!

I've decided that I'm DONE with my post-holiday funk! I'm just over it. I'm sick of being down in the dumps for no good reason... So, screw you post-holiday-funk. See ya. I'm moving on to bigger and better things; brighter days.

Here's what you may have missed/What I failed to report:
Kevin finally unpacked from deployment.
(yeah... only took 5 months, but it's finally happened)

We got a surprise visit from the "New Bed Fairy"
(we've moved up in the world of mattresses. Hello, Ultra-Plush Serta Mattress!)

I've been lending my hand to my very pregnant sisters nesting habits! We've successfully painted baby Caden's room. I'll really need to get some pictures. She made me choose the paint colors and I think it looks fantastic! Just yesterday we put the bedding on/in (whatevs) the crib, hung valance and two pictures. Now the room just needs a few finishing touches.

I am in the running for a NAF position at Schriever AFB.

(I know I know... I'm Army (hooah and all that) and this is AF. But hey, it pays and that's truly what I need out of a job. Lets not forget my Pops was AF for 21 years. So... umm I was expecting to insert an AF alternative to "Hooah". I'm at a loss. Ooops.)

Oh, we also 86'd all of the Christmas decor. That was a sad day. :(
I got over it.
I really crave order so it was a good thing.

Here's what's to come:
Get back to my bloggy!
((it's really missed me))

Get motivated.... in every way.
((weight loss, here I come. chores, reluctantly necessary. job.... ugh -rolling eyes-.))

Visit my best friend in DC! We'll be finding out the sex of her baby (to be named Samantha, because I'm fantastic).

Start a job.
((fingers crossed... I'll do everything I can on my end))

Have carpets steam cleaned.
((oh-so-necessary))

Sell stuff on Craigslist.
((damn recession))

My favorite Brother-in-law returns from A-stan!!
((Wooooo))

My second nephew graces us with his presence in March!

My ONE YEAR blogger-versary!

I am most excited to keep myself in check. We all have emotions and they aren't always fun or pleasant. Sometimes we are down in the dumps. But, I'm done with that for the time being. Please forgive my absence, I don't like to broadcast my pity-parties. As I said I'm in to brighter days. I am going to work on laughing more. General Happiness.

Anyone else notice I now have over 100 followers?

Love. It.

Some Stuff

Everyone watches Ellen, right?

If you don't...

You need to start.
She's hilarious and amazing!

Anywho... I was watching Ms. Ellen, she had Marie Tillman on the show today. This was Marie's first interview since her husband left the Arizona Cardnals to join the Army after the 9-11 attacks. Pat was tragically killed by friendly fire just two weeks into his second deployment. The Pat Tillman Fountation's main purpose is to support and provide assistance that would otherwise not be available to servicemembers and their families in order for them to attend college and receive their degrees.
Check out our the website here.

I went with my sister today to register for baby BOY necessities! You see we've registered once before but for baby girl thingies. Today was the day to rectify that situation.
It was good times.

PS: Kevin found the battery-charger for the camera. Tomorrow=Christmas decor pictures! Wooooo!

Incase you're crazy and unaware... tomorrow is also PAY-DAY!
~***~

Did anyone else hear that Stephen King paid $12,999 to get 150 guardsmen home for the holidays?
I think this is a great gesture.
I am confused why if these men and women were involved in training over the holiday why command is allowing it regardless of who is paying for it.
I know that, for instance, if Kevin were at NTC over the Christmas holiday they wouldn't be coming home for two days. Regardless if Stephen King paid for it.
Read the story here.
I'm just wondering if any of you can explain to me why this was an option for this unit?

See I'm always trying to learn new things. :)

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!

My sister is having a baby. You all know that because I've told you. Multiple times. I told you here about the day we found out my sister was having a baby girl, then Madisyn Hope. Her name has since been changed to MaKenna. Well that was until today!

Thankfully Since I didn't have to work today I was able to accompany my sister to her 3D Ultrasound. We got a few nice shots of the baby's face in 3D, until I ask Harriet jokingly "We're still having a girl, right?"

HAHaaaHAaa

Right?

Wrong.

Harriet does some looking around and BAM! Clear as day she see's and then I see it. A penis! But girls don't have penis'. Right? Pretty sure. I stand up out of my chair, over Harriet's shoulder and GASP! "Ugh" I say ever-so-eloquently. Then my sister catches on to what's happening and we burst into laughter.

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!

I just couldn't believe it. We were both disheveled for hours. There is another baby boy in our future! Wooo hoo! No more baby MaKenna. We must start searching for boy names now.

~***~

Tonight my hubby is at the hospital with two soldiers. They were in a car accident this evening at the end of the day. Hopefully they are okay and Kevin can come home sooner rather than later.

Long days make him grumpy.

Baby....

Baby.... it's cold outside!!

Yesterday it was quite brisk. Overnight it drizzled some snow over everything. I woke up to beautifully frosted trees, and roofs! I love it.

Tomorrow we're expecting a high of 29 degrees. Yea, that's a HIGH! I. Love. It.

So it's officially Fall, and here in Colorado we're moving right on through Fall and into Winter. That's really how we roll. We have Summer and Winter around these parts. But I'm good with that. I much prefer to be cold over hot. I am a happy girl!

One reason I love cold weather: My mom (used to/because she's been SLACKIN') typically cooks heavier/ hearty/ Italian meals in the winter. I'm referring to Lasagna, Manicotti, homemade pasta... YummM!

*~~~*

Baby... GIRLS are on the way!

Think back a few months folks... I reported that my sister successfully completed a round of IVF. Well today, Mom, Aunt Marie, my sister, and soon-to-be Big Brother, Nathan AND (most importantly) myself went to Katie's first 3D ultrasound! Yes, there was quite the crowd.. ha ha.

Unfortunately, lil' miss thang wasn't cooperating at first. Her back was facing the crowd. I suppose she's shy. After about 15 mins of trying to get a good shot and waiting for Levi (my bro-in-law) to call from Afghanistan to hear the results, Harriett (the Tech) finally tells everyone we're expecting a baby girl!

I am personally VERY excited about this because I really didn't like the name my sister had picked out for a Boy! I am, however, much more approving of Madisyn Hope!

Congrats to my big Sis! They worked very hard through the IVF and everything else, now they'll have a nice-rounded out family! PERFECT!

My babies....

.... might be BLOND!

this is a shocking and humbling realization!

You see my sister and I are brunette:

My sister's child; my nephew is brunette:
My husband is blond, well dirty blond at this stage of his life. As a very young child; in the early stages of his life he was BRIGHT blond! Most of my nieces and nephews (from my husband's side of the family) are blond... even though their other (non-blood-related) parent is also brunette.

My babies could be, might be blond!

Shocking!

~~~~
PS: Lifetime sucks! We're officially broken up. They have pushed me too far. First the Nanny, then Golden Girls, this morning it was an AM programing change and now I find out the PM programming has been changed as well. Lifetime, we're OVER!
Forget you. I'm moving on!
Tootles!
Blister & Baby Drama!!!
So, THIS is our backyard, currently, after 3 hours of hoeing going on!!! You see the back 1/3 of the yard? I did a great job. But my back hurts, and now I have this huge blister on my thumb and poor Brody is confused. He doesn't know what to do with that portion of the yard. Oh, and in better news it just rained so now it's mud, swell. Oh well the joys of being a home owner right? I'll have to hit Lowes/Home Depot something of that nature for leveling sand. when it is all said and done Kevin and I are going to be putting down paving stones, here are some examples. But we're on a budget so it's one thing at a time. So far it's just an $8 hoe, blisters, and a few hours of back-breaking work. (Literally, my back is killing me!)
I suppose you have to understand how our backyard got to this point. When we moved in all of the houses in our subdevelopment had mulch- that's it. It's cheap and low maintenance which is why the builder threw it back there. It makes sense. However, the dog eating it... and draggin it in my house drove me absolutely crazy! And it made the o-so-pleasant-chore of picking up dog poop even easier, don't cha know! {sarcasm} So we 86'd the mulch and put down sod. This looked fantastic! But the fact that the short-sighted builder didn't put a water spicket in the backyard and only in the garage made watering very DIFFICULT!! We had to run the hose all the way through the house a few times a day! So I stopped and the sod died. And Vwaa~LA here we are at our current yard status! Also, why it needs to be rectified! Hence the Blister! =(
~~~~~
As you know my sister is expecting and her husband left for Afghanistan about a month and a half ago. Well yesterday afternoon Nathan fell accidentally, on her stomach and she was having some really bad cramping. We rushed to her IVF doctor's office for an ultrasound just to make sure everything was ok. We saw the heartbeat from the baby in the uterus. Then the RN (with other 20 years experience) started looking around just to make sure everything else was ok. She questioned my sister on my name, then asks if I can watch my nephew overnight because my sister needs to go to the hospital ASAP and would probably need emergency surgery. Say WHAT?! So the RN leaves the room to contact their on-call doc.. comes back about 10 minutes later with a note and tells us to go to the ER on post. We rush around, drop Nathan off at my mother's and head to the hospital. Honestly we all bitch-whine-and-complain about TriCare and the medical but last night my sis received EXCELLENT care! We spent a whopping 5 hours in the ER. Just about an entire hour was spent in the Radiology department getting an ultrasound... SEARCHING and searching some more for this tubal-pregnancy, that wasn't there! Thank goodness!
We had a follow-up walk-in appointment at Evans (the hospital on post) with OB this morning. Thankfully, we sat there for an hour waiting to be seen and the doctor again said that there was no indication of a tubal pregnancy. The pain she was experiencing was most than likely caused by a pulled muscle in her abdomen and a cyst. Thankfully, her baby is doing great!! Hopefully going forward she'll have a stress-free pregnancy and no more false alarms caused by her IVF doctor's office!

41 Days...

So today Nathan (my nephew) helped me decide that the whole having kids thing should really be put on the back burner for a little bit... guess what he did? Guess how he added his two cents to this discussion... HE MOTHER EFFIN' BIT ME! Yes, that's right... ugh huh, that lil mother-lover bit me- in my chub (aka my belly). Why would I possibly want to have a lil' person running around, pooping, crying, always needing me to hug, cold, rock, comfort and soothe them when they're just gonna turn around and BITE ME!?? hmm... decision made!!

In all seriousness after receiving some input from others on this issue my wanting to wait has more to do with the financial responsibility that comes with raising children and babies. I have blogged before about the financial stress we are going to be under when Kevin gets home and that is with just the two of us. Add on the costs of formula, diapers, clothes, shoes, toys, crib, bouncer, bibs, blankets, more clothes, more diapers, dresser, changing table, more clothes, more diapers, swing, high chair, teething rings, infant Motrin, infant Tylenol, BOTTLES, more diapers, more clothes and teething rings I'd be willing to wager a bet that we'd be somewhere in the neighborhood of up-side-down, in the hole, credit-ruined, car re-po'ed... basically it would be seriously BAD business. I can agree with those of you who have said that you are never 100% ready for baby... but to intentionally work at having them and bringing them into a tough financial situation is just irresponsible and ridiculously unfair. Right? I know that tough times will come with or without babies/kids but with where we are and what we foresee coming (if I don't find a job before Kevin redeploys) it just isn't right to pursue this now. No matter how much we may want babies now. Right???

Other than the baby-having issue I have an interview for a secretary position at the elementary school on post tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully that works out. If not I do have something else in the works. While far less glamorous I have to take what I can get. Within reason of course, I can't be out on the corner for a few bucks!!

Hope you all had a great weekend and a blessed holiday! (:

43 Days Left...

Hmmm.. so whats new? I realized that I hadn't posted anything yet today. Well, what have I been up to? Being sleepy. Walked the dog. Returned our Evaporative Room Cooler to Lowes. Chatted with my best-Homie Amanda for like 2 hours. Then napped. WOOO. Watch out people, I'm a party animal! =)

So the baby subject is still swirling around in my head and in conversation with my hubby. If you haven't checked out his blog go see what he had to say on the subject (link to the left). I think he is right, we'll see what happens when he gets home. Other than that we're on opposite sides of the issue but I know that one day we'll procreate! =) I completely see where my husband is coming from and respect his position. One day it will happen, I just don't "see" it happening any foreseeable days. ha haa I laugh because of all the "seeing" going on not laughing at the issue.

Heads up for everyone for tomorrow: Ben and Jerry's is having Buy 1, Get 1 sundaes; Diary Queen is having Buy 1, Get 1 Blizzards and Bath and Body works is giving away a free foaming hand sanitizer with any purchase! So have a fantastic 4th of July everyone! Any good plans??

Grilled Pizzas (44 Days)

Last night Lauren came over and we had grilled pizzas! They were super yummy, but nothing really over the top or unexpected. Grilled pitas with pizza sauce, Mozzarella, pepperoni and fresh basil... they were soooo easy and really good! The grill really makes the pita crunchy and yummy! Lauren said she liked them also. I'm excited to try different versions in the future!

Other than that lately I have really been mulling over the whole procreating decision... It's a huge decision to make. Lately I've been excited and anxious about the idea. I'm afraid that I've been just swept up in the excitement swirling around, with my sister's IVF. All the family has been talking about is baby names, how many babies she'll have, boys versus girls, ect ect. Lets just pretend for the sake of argument that I am ready to birth some spawn. It's really not practical for where Kevin and I are right now, to be having children. It wouldn't be fair to us or our perspective "spawn". Doesn't change the fact that we want them. We have more than some but is it enough?

PS: I say "spawn" with all the love and affection in the world people. I am not some evil wench who resents kids. =) just FYI for those of you who really don't know me or my sense of humor that well.
