Marathon super sad, busy Weekend.

It all began on Thursday morning, 3AM. We're up drowning our Brody in Benadryl, getting ready for the day and completing our final stages of packing, toiletries and such. We proceeded to the airport by 415, with two bags, Brody and his kennel in tow. After a mere 45 mins we were finally checked in on our flight and then we completed our journey through security and to our gate. I should preface the next bit by saying I'm not a fan of United Airlines right now. For those of you who have traveled with a pet know you have to provide a Health Certificate from your Vet. Well my Vet included a memo about temperatures and basically United either didn't care or didn't inform their employees on the tarmac of the memo's specifications. Our poor pup sat on the tarmac for 45 mins in 18 degree weather. The memo stated that the dog should not be subject to temperatures under 30 degrees for  more than 15 mins.... yea, you do the math... I was not and still aren't overly thrilled with United and that situation.

We made it to my in-laws in San Diego and Brody began exploring his new home. He loves it there, the sun, the pool, his tennis balls. Thursday night we accompanied my in-laws to an award dinner for my father-in-law.  It was a great time, and I did go with the braid in my hair... it looked really good but I don't have any pictures. Boo! It wasn't all shoomzing and cocktails though, there were some laughing and really funny moments. My husband was the talk of the town though... so many people came up to him, thanked him for his service and started telling Kevin their own war stories. I was so proud of him. I also discovered that I actually really like seared Halibut. I'm not a fish fan.... never have been, but I'm open to trying things and I was happily surprised that I liked it. The party was great, Kevin and I were so happy to be there to share in Neal's special moment.

Other than the party we hung out around the house with the pup and family. I also got to catch up with my good friend Noel, I try to see her every time I go to San Diego. I love her!!! It was so nice to have dinner and catch up with her.

Today was rough. We had to say goodbye and leave Brody. It was really sad and there were a few tears but at the end of the day we did what we think is best for Brody. Sometimes doing what's best isn't easy or necessarily what you want. Today being a grown up was sad and not at all fun.

Back on the saddle

So I'm back people. I finally have the time to sit and blog. It's currently 5AM. Just crazy! I'm never up at 5AM. Even when I was working I was never up at 5AM.

Lets recap the last few weeks. 30 Days of me was a complete FAIL! It was definitely a fun idea and fun participating up through day 9. Then life kicked in.... I trained my replacement at work (another Army wife). Had my last day at work. Baked Sep addition of L+S's CupCake club with Nathan by my side! (see  more below) Packers came. Loader's came. House is empty. Carpets are clean and the house is ready for a renter! Holler if you're moving to the Fort Carson/Peterson AFB/Colorado Springs area! We're now at my Father's house, finally just finished un-packing yesterday.
It other news Nathan turned 4!! It's such a big boy... time really does fly. I have to run... but Marble Cupcakes were a huge success!

No Caption necessary!

So far going pretty well.

Success! I did add store bough choc icing to half!
and?

Nathan saw the Cocoa powder and insisted on trying it....
YUCKY! Auntie told you baby... now maybe you'll listen!

I'm baaack... for a minute..

I've finally made my way back home to CO. Helping out with all the funeral arrangements and helping Gramma make some changes was a learning experience. I'm happy that I could kind of stand back and see what things actually had to take place after someone passes away, so that when I should have to make any such arrangements I'll know what needs to be done.

I'm not sure how much time I'll have for blogging in the next few days/week. Baby Logan makes his debut tomorrow!!!! I'm sure the pregnancy went by much slower for my sister than it did for me- this seemed to pass so quickly. I'm just happy that Levi's home, my sister and the baby are healthy. After slugging it out through the tribulations of IVF it's time to welcome this lil' bundle of joy into the world!

I'll be back soon enough with pictures and more frequent updates!

Hope all is well!

Here we go!!

I've decided that I'm DONE with my post-holiday funk! I'm just over it. I'm sick of being down in the dumps for no good reason... So, screw you post-holiday-funk. See ya. I'm moving on to bigger and better things; brighter days.

Here's what you may have missed/What I failed to report:
Kevin finally unpacked from deployment.
(yeah... only took 5 months, but it's finally happened)

We got a surprise visit from the "New Bed Fairy"
(we've moved up in the world of mattresses. Hello, Ultra-Plush Serta Mattress!)

I've been lending my hand to my very pregnant sisters nesting habits! We've successfully painted baby Caden's room. I'll really need to get some pictures. She made me choose the paint colors and I think it looks fantastic! Just yesterday we put the bedding on/in (whatevs) the crib, hung valance and two pictures. Now the room just needs a few finishing touches.

I am in the running for a NAF position at Schriever AFB.

(I know I know... I'm Army (hooah and all that) and this is AF. But hey, it pays and that's truly what I need out of a job. Lets not forget my Pops was AF for 21 years. So... umm I was expecting to insert an AF alternative to "Hooah". I'm at a loss. Ooops.)

Oh, we also 86'd all of the Christmas decor. That was a sad day. :(
I got over it.
I really crave order so it was a good thing.

Here's what's to come:
Get back to my bloggy!
((it's really missed me))

Get motivated.... in every way.
((weight loss, here I come. chores, reluctantly necessary. job.... ugh -rolling eyes-.))

Visit my best friend in DC! We'll be finding out the sex of her baby (to be named Samantha, because I'm fantastic).

Start a job.
((fingers crossed... I'll do everything I can on my end))

Have carpets steam cleaned.
((oh-so-necessary))

Sell stuff on Craigslist.
((damn recession))

My favorite Brother-in-law returns from A-stan!!
((Wooooo))

My second nephew graces us with his presence in March!

My ONE YEAR blogger-versary!

I am most excited to keep myself in check. We all have emotions and they aren't always fun or pleasant. Sometimes we are down in the dumps. But, I'm done with that for the time being. Please forgive my absence, I don't like to broadcast my pity-parties. As I said I'm in to brighter days. I am going to work on laughing more. General Happiness.

Anyone else notice I now have over 100 followers?

Love. It.

Updates

So I've been taking some time off, from all of this blogging business. Truthfully, from everything.

Two weeks of Vacationing is no joke. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. That -ish is exhausting!

All the same, we are home now and we're settling into a daily routine. Which is nice. Although, we're getting used to things, and life; changes are in our future:

1. Kevin is back on the grind; pursuing the WO business. If you all remember about 4 months back I was blogging about Kevin's travels to Balad for his flight physical, putting together his WO packet, ect.. Well, now that he's returned home they have to start the flight physical over, from scratch so that it can be handled (start-to-finish) by the same doc and everything is in order.

So, the possibility of moving is in our future again. We are going to be working together to get his packet submitted by the November deadline!

2. I have an interview, actually a group interview on Monday for World Market. Whoopty-doo! The silver lining: our bills will get paid!

In other news, I've got the sickness! :( Yummy, flemmy-cough, maybe a fever (I don't have a thermometer), headache and generally pretty miserable. Bleh! I'm going to go rest some more.

O.M.G.

So Michael Jackson died today. So did Farrah Fawcett. What a sad, sad day for the entertainment world. On the other hand Pete Wentz really let Perez Hilton have it via Twitter today! Basically he Pete called Perez out for mourning MJ when he makes a living off of bad-mouthing celebrities. You gotta love Twitter and celebrity drama. =)

I've been M.I.A. for a few days. You see the adapter for my laptop took a dirt nap and getting another one was quite the hassle. All is well now, though. I have a new operable adapter. So I'm back people. Much to my dismay my life has been uneventful while my computer has been down. So I don't have much to report, other than the fact that I've been cranky! booo =( We all have our moods so I'm sure it'll turn around soon.

My sister has been going through IVF and tomorrow has her egg-retrieval procedure tomorrow morning. So I'll be on Kiddo (Nathan) duty while she's at the doc with Levi. After the procedure the doc gets all the essential parts together... we wait to see how the embryos grow for 3-5 days. Then the implantation will hopefully happen before Levi deploys. (fingers crossed) !!!! Levi takes off Tuesday for Afghanistan. This is his 4th deployment and 2nd to Afghanistan. So my brother-in-law and sister are ol' pros at this Army life. Deployments are no big thang for them. haha haaa So keep all you happy thoughts coming and offer up your support here.

I want some ice cream, anyone feel like picking it up and bringing it by here? PLEASE and THANK YOU!

Here I am!

HELLO readers! So I am back from my far too brief escape from real life in Cali! I had a great time with my fabulous in-laws. I also caught up with an old friend from high school, Noel. I did, THANKFULLY tan my pasty-white person by the pool, read over 400 pages of "New Moon", pigged out a little bit and overall had a fantastic, successful and very relaxing trip!

Who else is on the Pinkberry bandwagon!??? A friend of mine from Jersey raved about it when she moved to Colorado. Evidently this wonderful semi-healthy snack is "all the rage" in NYC and LA! I remember her complaining that we didn't have it in CO that it would be easier for her to go to LA than (the comfortable) NYC for it! Well for those of you that are unfamiliar this is a frozen yogurt joint (much like Cold Stone, but not ice cream) with 'mix ins'. I had the pomegranate yogurt with Capt'n Crunch! It was fantastic!

So thanks again to my great in-laws and my one and only Noey for the hospitality and good times! =)
Just a random Palm Tree. =)

Hiatus

People! People! People! I took a brief hiatus from all the bullshit that was going on in the blogworld. I, as well as you grew tired of the arguments that I neither started nor perpetuated... Well, as I openly and publically attempted to change the subject multiple times, I refuse to give this person, their lies and negativity take up any more of my time and energy than it already has. Some of you may have noticed that during my hiatus I did delete my blog. This was to completely remove the drama from all of us who no longer wished to participate... the only way I knew how to do this was to remove the medium this other person had to perpetuate the nonsense- my blog.

All the same... I didn't create my blog to make friends that I would probably never meet. I also didn't create my blog to be magically transported back to high school; where people were kosher to your face and behind your back refused to back you up, and flat out bad-mouth you. Well I found a lot of my readers didn't like when I stated obvious military differences and responded to contradictory comments with facts... Well too bad. I've decided to remove the list of blogs that I read from my blog and start from scratch. If you don't like what you know of me (which isn't all that much), then feel free to discontinue your following of my blog I will take that as what it is... also for those of you who do stick around please feel free to in the future disagree with me but also please refrain from being disrespectful, rude, argumentative or out-and-out offensive. I didn't think these things had to be spelled out... silly me I thought it was common courtesy but evidently some people need to be reminded of how others should be treated and that you can disagree with other people and not result to any of the above.

So those are the changes peoples... I invite you to move on and as some of you go and no longer follow me I will continue on without you. I won't allow myself, my thoughts and opinions to be hinged on the validation of strangers. Read or don't... But stay positive! =)
