yuck

I feel craptastic today. Yesterday evening I attempted to go to Aspen with a friend of mine for a long weekend. It was a huge, GIANT sized failure. As we approached 8400 Feet (Woodland Park, Co) I started feeling really awful: lightheaded, nauseous, tired-- overall crappy! So we stop in Woodland Park about 40 mins into our trip and get something to eat and feed the kiddos... this is where everything went bad!
First of all, if you ever find yourself hungry in Woodland Park Colorado avoid the Wendy's like the plague. I was no impressed. They "forgot" the cheese on my "cheeseburger". C'mon seriously. Anyway, I ordered a sprite with my "cheese-less-cheeseburger" hoping that would settle my tum-tum. Nope. I proceeded to vomit in their less than spot-less latrine. Talk about making an already unpleasant experience worse. Bleh- no thanks. So I tell my friend I really don't think it's smart for me to continue. I tell her to continue you to Aspen and I'll call my mommy for a ride. I've always known that my Mommy would come get me anyplace I needed, under any circumstances. She's cool like that.

After I got home I had a piece of bread (gotta get something in my stomach right?) and pound water (gotta re-hydrate, right?). Then I proceeded to fall asleep at 830 pm. I slept for about 11 hours and got up a lil after 7 this AM. I'm still not 100% maybe about 75-80%.
I wish my hubby was here. I'm the worlds-worst sick person. I just want someone to pat my forehead with a cold damp towel and bring me Gatorade with a straw (you know so I don't have to actually sit up to drink it). Oh, 800 mg of Motrin... because that fixes everything... right? No? Well I guess it couldn't hurt. May help with the headache (woo hoo found a justification for Vitamin M).

Bad News

Being so far away from home definitely has it good moments and it's BAD! We're the kind of family that is  (sometimes overly) involved in each other lives. We gossip about each other (in the best way possible, i mean we're only trying to find out if everything is ok or if so-and-so really did that to her!), but we also love each other. when I was out of work for almost 2 years I built very strong relationships with my sister and her kiddos. When my brother-in-law was deployed I was her surrogate husband during her pregnancy with Logan and was there for everything. I loved being able to be there for the ultrasounds and for the scary bits and last minute ER runs. I like to think of my self as that go-to person. I loved it. I really like to help my family out when they need it the most. With that being said our baby (yes, he isn't just 'theirs' he's Ours- as a collective) Logan has been in the hospital for 4 days now.
Isn't he the cutest? (little boobies and all) We like our babies chubby (no offense to the skinny ones ou there). My sister emailed me this picture two days ago. I cried. I can't believe under his little tear-drop eyes is a nasal cannula!

Logan has been diagnosed with RSV (so far they are waiting for the doctor to review the chest x-ray to see what else is going on). He was admitted because his oxygen levels were in the 80's (should be 100). We're worried about possible Asthma or pneumonia at this point. (fun fact: I was in and out of the hospital as an infant with asthma related complications.. was not a fun time to be or my mother- only difference is, I don't remember it. Thanks mom!)

Many prayers and thoughts are needed!!

I lost it.

The last three days I've really enjoyed reading all of the comments from my last post. I love when my readers stop reading and speak up!
I did not have an opportunity to see Brothers over the weekend so I still have no idea how everything was portrayed. Stay tuned for that!

*~~~*

So I lost (or at least I think I lost) the battery charger for our digital camera. I still have one more place to check. Our Christmas decorations have been up and looking fabulous for over a week. I've been waiting for my camera to charge in order for picture-taking to be an option. I was hoping the camera would charge from the USB cord... not so much.
Moral of the story: Still waiting for pictures of my beautifully decorated house. :)

I just wanted to take a few minutes to remember that 68 years ago today Pearl Harbor was attacked by Japan. I can't really speak for everyone on the planet but I know that for me I just want to be remembered. When I die I just want people remember my life and appreciate the time we shared. With that being said I think it's kind of sad that out of 9 major news websites only one mentioned today's anniversary on their home page. 68 years is a long time. But this is history. I'm flabbergasted that this didn't get more (if any) media coverage today.

In fairness I didn't watch any news today. So it's entirely possible that Pearl Harbor was mentioned on the Television but not online. Who knows? Regardless, I wanted to make it a point of remembering a major event in our countries history.

Other than all of that I'm fighting a head cold today. My sinus' are killing me! Thankfully I found my Dad's recipe for Chili today so I had a nice bit of that this evening.

Also I made Kevin watch Bride Wars! HaaaHA! I have to say I really do find that hilarious. Even though Kevin has made me watch FAR worse movies- FAR WORSE! ;) I'm off to bed early. My head feels like it's going to implode!

PS: Anyone notice my new Christmas/Festive Blogger Background?

I had to share my festiveness with my readers! :)

I Want it Wednesday...

I'm feeling cranky. Pissy. Bitchy. Argumentative. Miffed.

Anyway...

I want to get over this Bronchitis all ready!
I want the Colorado Unemployment people to stop screwing me around with all of this random mail, and to shit or get off the pot (so to speak). Basically, I want a clear and concise; pass or fail; yes or no on whether or no I'm approved for benefits.

*~~~*

Not sure if any of you have put this little fact together, or not but it's just my sister and I in our family. I'm the youngest. Today my wicked-younger-sister-syndrome started rearing it's ugly head again. I'll be the first to admit that the youngest child is the BEST around (sorry for those of you who are the oldest ;], but the first is the worst and second is the best!). All the same, this afternoon everything my sister did just friggin bugged me! I wanted to pop her head like a pimple!

About 2 months ago I was in JCPenney's and I picked up their lil' baby stuff catalogue. It had the cutest bedding set on the cover. I showed it to Katie, she said she didn't like it and tossed the catalogue aside. So I silently saved this in my memory for any future spawn I may have. Wellll, my fancy-pants (first born) sister pulls the same bedding set up online this afternoon and tells me its her new fav for her fetus. GrrrR!

I POUTED!

Hopefully, I'll wake up feeling less hostile (bc I wasn't born first, ect).

Sickness update: I'm feeling better everyday but I still sound like an 80-year-old man that smoked since the beginning of time. Oh, and have mentioned the cough is still lingering? Yup.

The Tickle

The azithromycin is doing it's job... fixing me right up! :) This is the good news. The bad news: I am now dripping and draining from my nose! :( I look like friggin Rudolph. On top of that, I have this constant tickle in my nose.

Dear Tickle {in my Nose}:
I hate you. I wish you'd go away, sorta like NOW!
Thank you,
Sam

I suppose now that I'm feel much better I'll have to get back my life and responsibilities: cleaning, cooking, laundry... egh. Swell. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Sometimes I hate being a grown up!

I have...

bronchitis!
I broke down this Sunday morning and went into the Urgent Care facility closest to my house. I finally went to the doc because I woke up with my body aching allll over! This scared me because body aching just screams FLU in my mind... and I'm not in any hurry to take chances with the flu; you know the H1N1 going around and all. Luckily, I don't have the flu it's just bronchitis.

Tonight I am feeling 100x better though. Thanks to some meds from the doc and the fantastic care my husband has been giving me! I haven't cooked anything, gotten a drink, medicine, let the dog out, gotten myself a blanket or turned on the ceiling fan in 3 days. Kevin had brought my everything I could need or want.

I'm a lucky girl.

He loves me.

Updates

So I've been taking some time off, from all of this blogging business. Truthfully, from everything.

Two weeks of Vacationing is no joke. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. That -ish is exhausting!

All the same, we are home now and we're settling into a daily routine. Which is nice. Although, we're getting used to things, and life; changes are in our future:

1. Kevin is back on the grind; pursuing the WO business. If you all remember about 4 months back I was blogging about Kevin's travels to Balad for his flight physical, putting together his WO packet, ect.. Well, now that he's returned home they have to start the flight physical over, from scratch so that it can be handled (start-to-finish) by the same doc and everything is in order.

So, the possibility of moving is in our future again. We are going to be working together to get his packet submitted by the November deadline!

2. I have an interview, actually a group interview on Monday for World Market. Whoopty-doo! The silver lining: our bills will get paid!

In other news, I've got the sickness! :( Yummy, flemmy-cough, maybe a fever (I don't have a thermometer), headache and generally pretty miserable. Bleh! I'm going to go rest some more.
