When Your Husband...

Cooks dinner it makes things allllll better!

Kevin doesn't cook. Period. Well, not quite that "period." He does make macaroni and cheese. Since I started working again I've been pretty beat/exhausted/lazy/useless in the evenings. Somehow I'm also more hungry throughout the day. This using your brain business is no joke. Anywho, today I text Kevin about 4 p.m. and asked him if he would mind starting dinner because I was super hungry. To my surprise Kevin agreed. Once I (finally) made my way home he had the grill heated up, steak on, and rice-a-roni started! All I had to do was make the corn!

Gotta say I don't think there are too many things that comin' home to that wouldn't fix.

My friend and her husband are doing okay. Last I heard he's still in Kuwait awaiting transport to Germany. He broke two vertebra near the top of his back. He's up walking around and they don't think he'll need surgery. All in all he seems to have been pretty lucky. Thanks for all the support and prayers!

In other Solider/Army related news, all the NCO's met with the new Sergeant Major today. Evidently he's a very family orientated guy and will be contacting the parents of all the soldiers. You know.... just to say Hi. While I think this is great.... I'm wondering why he isn't contacting the spouses of the married soldiers and parents of the unmarried guys?
Any thoughts??

Oh.... last but not least (although I wish I didn't have to talk about this at all) the hubs will be gearing up for his fourth deployment this fall -- the gearing up part is in the fall. The Deployment part I'm not sure... but my best guess is in the Spring (2011).

So for "I Want it Wednesday" I want another Wednesday...
That doesn't include conversations about injured soldiers
or deploying husbands.

Mother's Day

What'd you today? How'd you celebrate your mom and the other moms in your life?
I was volun-told yesterday that I would be making breakfast this morning for my momma and the rest of my family. I was semi-overwhelmed because I didn't have anything in the house and I had to get over to Erin's for her birthday shin-dig. All's well that ends well. I made Baked French Toast with Praline Topping (courtesy of Paula Dean- who I really can't stand but that's another topic for another post), scrambled eggs, bacon, and Potatoes O'Brien. I should have taken a picture of the spread but I forgot! Boo... Here's a picture and link to the  French toast recipe:
This was such a hit! Everyone absolutely loved it. I'm sure it was because it was really healthy and contained no calories- at all. I did take the advice of one girl and use 6 eggs instead of 8, and 2 butter sticks instead of 4 in the Praline topping.

PS: Anyone else see Betty White on SNL!?
CLASSIC.
HILARIOUS.
that's all I have to say about that.

My Mom...

...She's HILARIOUS!
Seriously.

So we were sitting around talking about what she's going to be getting everyone for Christmas. She said she doesn't know what to get me.
(which is partly a lie because I know she reads my blog. Hello! I Want it Wednesday, DUH)
I jump at the opportunity to remind her "MacBook Pro, PLEASE".
She says, "Yes, I know... (laugh) anything more affordable, possibly?"
I said "Nope, MacBook Pro, please." Ha haaa (I giggled but also meant I needed the MacBook Pro).
She said, "Well, I Want it Wednesday said diamond ear rings".
I said "OOO, yes, those are pretty too. See you know what I want just refer to I Want it Wednesday".
This is where my mother proves how hilarious she is:
She says, "Why don't you just put up a link on your blog, so people can buy I Want it Wednesday stuff for you and have it sent to your house?"
Seriously, all of this was a joke people. Please don't think I'm asking for stuff.
On the other hand...
if you want to buy me stuff I do desperately enjoy free stuff!
Don't we all?
I'm pretty sure you can purchase MacBook Pro's on Apple's website.
;)

Happy Friday Readers! I hope you have a hilarious and enjoyable weekend!
