Weekend Boredom

What do you do with your weekends?

The last month's weekends have been pretty damn boring around here! I don't like to just randomly or frivolously spend money. I'm a mission-minded kind of person. If there isn't a plan in place... why would we just venture out of the house? So I wonder what fun things you all do with your families on the weekends so that me and Kevin can steal your ideas and be more productive and fun (like you)!

I'm thinking we can go skiing (yes I'm the only 20-something on the planet who doesn't snowboard... never even tried it). It's fairly expensive but we can rent all our gear and buy our lift tickets on post so that will help. 

 Maybe we'll get some people together and make a weekend of it? hmmm...

It's an idea! Could be fun...

Thursday, I'll be in DC until Sunday!

YES, Super Bowl Sunday. It's ridiculous. When we bought the ticket we didn't know Super Bowl would be on the 7th. Grrrr!

The 8th is my big Sis' birthday.

My BIL should be back from A-stan by Valentine's Day... we hope!

Taxes, Dog Grooming, Baby shower, another Birthday.... Kevin's Birthday on St. Patty's Day (17 Mar). Then the family's newest addition will grace us with his presence! My sister should have her baby by the 15th of March!!

With all the excitement coming up I still want your weekend ideas!

Can't. Sleep.

So I can't sleep. It is after midnight here in CO. And for those of you that know me, you know how much of an old lady I truly am.. Which makes midnight wayyyy past my bed time. The late hour also explains why I am posting via my Blackberry (A.K.A. "CRACKberry") I somehow have the energy to blog but not to journey downstairs and get my laptop- hahaha!
Well I am all set for my trip tomorrow to San Diego! =) only thing is I'll have to take a bigger suitcase so that my dog (from Build-a-bear, that Kevin made on R&R) will fit! I have this nagging feeling I wouldn't be able to sleep without it!
Now don't you ladies go posting about wild-craziness within the next 4 days... I'll have to catch up on everything on Monday or Tuesday. So keep life lowkey. I don't like to be behind the times.
I think I'll try this sleeping thing again.... Hmmm. Wish me luck.

Not so Much...

People have been asking for an update... Well really not much has been going on. Just been helping my sister out a little bit and still trying to find a job. That is becoming more and more of an necessity every day! :(

Ummm, my hubby is doing good they have completed their journey to Basra... fingers crossed this will be the last move for this deployment! Oh and he's complaining about the heat! Over 100 there now...!

WOOHOO! I thought of something to blog about! Kaitlyn and I watched Taking Chance. It was really kind of heart wrenching. I was interested to see how our fallen heroes were treated one their way home. Also, I am sort of one of those people who have to rub salt in an open wound- so to speak. There were a few scenes I could do without... they didn't show faces but the shots (that I could do without) of someone cleaning a body or sealing the body bags. Overall it was a great story and very well portrayed. I have to say Kevin Bacon plays one squared away Marine.

Well basically life has been boring! whooptyyY DOooO!

Ugh... This Sucks!

Approximately 2.5 inches as of 230 PM! *Snow started about Noon.

Well, here is a nice spring day in Colorado Springs, CO! I was thinking about a walk in the park today or taking Brody to the dog park or something. Well I woke up this morning and said to myself "Where'd the mountains go?" I have lived in Colorado Springs for over 12 years now, so I know that Spring Blizzards fairly common, but 'they' are saying this is going to be one for the record books. We are expecting 10 inches here; 17 inches in Denver. PS: My mother is stuck in VEGAS at a "class".... There are worse places to be stuck!

This AM I got up and checked my email and applied for a few jobs online, straightened up and finally got out of the house at 11. I went straight to the gym (I could tell by the clouds comin over the mountains that something big was coming my way), and I had to get to Sam's Club for dog food- it was literally all gone! I had a great workout... sometimes I leave wondering why I bothered to leave the house at all, and other times I feel like I really did some good! I stopped at the mall to return some things, then hit Sam's Club. Who else thinks they suck?! Well, actually I love Sam's Club, I'm just bitter today! They don't have the dog food I have always fed to Brody anymore! So, I had to buy a new brand which is really not good for Dogs. But with the weather situation I was really in a bind. Hopefully there isn't too much diareaha.

One thing I do love at Sam's is their flowers. I figured instead of just throwing all the roses in one big vase and being boring I would try to make it pretty. So here's what I did:

Had to do a "tall" arrangement.

But I love the "short stubby" arrangement!

So making the roses look pretty took up some time (out of my boredem). Other than that, Brody is really liking the snow!

Any suggestions of what I can do the next day trapped in the house ladies? I just wish Kevin were here so that we could play in the snow or cuddle up and watch a movie. Something sweet and romantical like that. But, I guess I'll just wait for your suggestions and watch TV, or play Wii in the mean time.

Also, Kevin is on the move. His unit is moving from Hella to Basrah (this is the 3rd move in 6 months). We usually talk everyday, (sometimes more than once or twice) but yesterday I didn't hear from him. So today I heard from him again. I love that he calls me as soon as he possibly can. If there are phones available he will always call and update me- let me know where he is at along the path to the new place. So he is safe and sound! I think that is enough for now. I will more than likely be posting a lot tonight and tomorrow-- since I'll be trapped inside.
