I Want it Wednesday

So....
Hummmmm....

You see I don't really want anything special right now.
NO! That isn't true. I need new pots and pans. I didn't expect to need/want new ones at this time. I've had Anodized Wear Ever pots and pans for about 4 years now. Over the course of the past month (or so) they've started to look awful! They are water stained or something. Just horrible! I'm sorta scared to cook with them, which is more than likely completely assinine but I don't know if heat releases some sort of crazy chemical and is going to kill me.
Okay, that was overly dramatic. But it does give me pause.

So I'm thinking Stainless Steal. What do you have? Do you like it?

I've never had stainless steal cookware before. Because I'm such a genius I know metal conducts heat... so tell me, is it BAD to get a pan like this?:

You see how the handle doesn't have rubber or anything to protect my precious lil' fingers?
So tell me what are your thoughts on stainless steal cookware?

I have them too. While mine have stay cool handles stuff sticks to them like crazy unless you leave them soaking for a while. I will be getting a kitchenaid set very soon.

I have a gooorgeous cuisinart set of stainless steel pans. Love, love, love.

The handles are so heavy (different materials, too) that they don't get too hot. But, if you are cooking something for a LONG time (like soups or chili) then they do warm up.

My Hubs had a really nice Woflgang Puck set like that and a few cheap-o pieces from walmart before we got married (I'm sure it's in a box in our basement somewhere) that I used a lot at his apartment. I only had a problem if I was cooking pasta or something that stayed on the heat a really long time, even then--thats what potholders are for :)

If you want to make a real investment in pots and pans (or get someone to do it for you) I have Royal Prestige (http://www.royalprestige.com/) cookware and I love it, but it is really expensive and don't fall for any of their promo-trips etc because while RP isn't the one ripping you off I used to work for a company that used the same brand of promos and the promos are a rip off. But the cookware is AMAZING...

cast iron. old fashioned cast iron, if it's treated properly, will last you forever, you can use very little oil/butter to stop it sticking after its properly cured. Ror pots (as opposed to cast iron skillets and fryer) I go to the restaurant supply store - and get those tough pots - they may not look good, but they last. as for Stainless Steel, don't like it myself, but you can go to a restaurant/kitchen supply place and get those rubber covers for the handles.

I love using my mom's stainless steel ones. Her's have a non-stick surface on the bottom of the pan which makes them perfect in my way of thinking. ;)So find some stainless steel, non-stick ones... And either invest in some good pot holders or they make pot handle covers. =)
