On the road

Gotta love the iPhone. I know I do and I know I'll miss it. Hopefully, maybe I'll be able to find a way to keep once we get to Germany.
All the same we said the hardest goodbyes and we are road-tripping it to Missouri as I write this. Hello 14 hours in the car! Woooo.... Some people love road trips. I'm not one of those people. Tonight we'll be in a hotel room which BETTER have wifi so I can catch up on my blog reading.
I'm off to nap now. Hittin' the road is hard when you're sick and emotional! Yea, I must have forgotten to mention over the last few days I have developed a pretty nasty cough. I'll update when I can!

you'll have to cancel your contract before you come here, there aren't any providers here that are in the states.... but you can get the iphone through TKS once you get here. I'm not sure if you'll be able to use the one you have and just get the sim card for it here, or if you'll have to get an entirely new iphone. but TKS usually has the "sign a contract for 2 years and you get it for 1 euro" type of thing. I paid 1 euro for my black berry and my husband paid 1 euro for his andriod.

I miss my iPhone too! We went back to Verizon since husband deployed and Verizon has an international Blackberry and a good plan so we can talk. Hopefully, we change phones when he gets back!

Yeah you have to cancel your contract before you move here. It shouldnt be a big deal, you just have to call them and fax your husband's orders. My husband used his iphone over here with our t-mobile contact. Even with the "iphone plan" it was crazy expensive. His bill was around 110 euro a month. They sure dont tell you that when you sign up! lol

As others already mentioned, you will be able to use your iPhone in Europe but you need to cancel your current service with AT&T. With the copy of orders you will be able to keep the phone.

Then take it with you to Europe, and get a SIM card from one of the local operators - T-Mobile, Vodafone, ......

You are able to use your US number in Europe since you are a GSM network user (unlike Verizon or Sprint that use different network technology); assuming that you have the roaming activated on your phone. However, remember that it will be VERY expensive to make and receive calls while roaming so it really is not worth it.
