To Vacation or to not.....

Kevin and I have been talking about what we/he should do with his block leave. Since my job search has been less than successful (up until this point) we don't have a ton of money. When Kevin left and I was working we should have had a small fortune (that's an exageration...) saved and were going to vacation to Vegas and NYC. Well that is out of the question at this point. If all goes well and *fingers crossed* I get this job with Tierra Vista we will be able to get out of town for a long weekend, at least. Hopefully. Well we have been discussing our options. We are thinking about going to Fresno for 2 days than heading to San Fransisco for a few more. Yes this is more than a "long weekend"... looking like approximately a week. I have never been to SF before so I think it would be a great place. But there are actually so many other places that I would like to go. What about Vegas? Chicago? Seattle? San Diego (not JUST because my MIL and FIL are there... but because it's great, relaxing to me)? LA? Orlando? D.C.?

So tell me folks where are you going? Or where would you recommend visiting?

I liked Chicago, but its not really "relaxing"...I've always wanted to go to San Diego, too!! And Seattle. Our recruiter told us to request ft lewis b/c Seattle was "the most romantic place he's ever seen"!!

I am going to Seattle in a few weeks, I will report back to you on that!

If you want relaxing, Chicago is not the place to be. There is way to much to do and it's a city on the move. San Diego would be relaxing.

OK maybe I am a bit biased..but I would vote for San Diego! First of all room and board are free...you have your own pool and hot tub...In and Out Burger is less than 1 minute away..the beach is less than 20 minutes away..Sea World is 15 minutes away and Disneyland is 90 minutes away....you would have free maid service....cable Tv included with tons of HD channels....WII games at your disposal...kitchen is open 24/7....just a thought.....on a serious note...if it relaxing you want then I agree with your friends, Chicago is not the place to go...SF would be fun but $$, Seattle is beautiful also...Vegas is fun but if funds are limited that may not be the best place to go....DC would also be fun, there is lots to do and see, but I don't know if it would be relaxing, when I have been there we were always on the go to see one thing after another...so again I will encourage San Diego....(and it is JUST because your MIL and FIL live there)
love you

I would pick the beach...any beach. We were planning on going to the Florida Keys until I found out that I had a little visitor, who's permanant! Now the only vacation we will be taking on leave is to Evans...hah! But good luck on your vacation planning!

Ok, so I'm always going to push for Vegas because I LOVE that place. I try to get out there at least once a year. I can tell you that the Excalibur hotel has some really cheap deal right now. If you can fly on allegiant the flights are like 49 bucks each way per person. Check into it!
