First Day; Vortex of Non-Sense (x2); Can't Sleep.

It's 1:30 AM. I can't sleep.
BAH!

~***~

Today was my first day at my new job! It was good- overall. The other ladies I'm working with in the Proposal's department are all very nice. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that we have too terribly much in common. I haven't completely written them off but so far- nothing in common. Boo. The only other issue I'm having is this generaly feeling uneasy. I think it's because of where my cube is; the direction is faces; my back is not to a wall. It creeps me out. I don't like people coming up behind me.. under any circumstances. Also, I'm one of these people that if you don't address me- get my attention (ie. call my name) I am not going to pay attention to what is coming out of your mouth. So today I missed out on a few chuckles...

Maybe I'll ask for a new cube on Monday. My boss "H" (from here on shall be own as H) is so far pretty flexible and understanding. Which is great in a supervisor. I am looking forward to Monday and getting to know my co-workers better.

Ok, so I can't sleep and Kevin passed out at oh, 7:45. Seriously. He's been exhausted in the evenings lately. Anyway. He's been sleeping for HOURS and I'm (obviously) awake (at 1:36 am) still.... :(  So I took to shopping online for household things.

Kevin and I very intentionally bought a new home versus a fixer-upper. As fun as it may be to plan renovations, carrying them out is a bit different. We didn't want the hastle. Recently we've been sucked into the vortex of non-sense that is HGTV!. Urg! Even though our home is new and doesn't require any major work, I've found myself looking for things to up-grade or change. I know, it's stupid. Just this morning it occured to me that I can up-grade the bathrooms for fairly cheap. New faucets, framed mirrors, ect.. I'm excited about it.

Back to being up in the middle of the night: I was scanning through some light fixtures at Lowes.com (PS: Lowes offers 10% Military Discount-- but you HAVE to ask for it... even if you go in Uniform you still have to ASK for it!) I click to the next page, where I'm met with this:

To serve you better, we are currently performing maintenance on Lowes.com

Please check back with us soon.

Yea, Lowe's let me down. Here I was scrolling through 1000's of lights (flush mounts for the hallway, chandellier for over the dining table, lights for the bathrooms) and BAM... Lowe's goes to bed! If Lowe's can do it, so can I. I'll dig out the Tylenol PM.

I'll pay for this lack of sleep tomorrow. :(

Beep, Beep... Back the Truck Up!

As previously stated I've been M.I.A. lately and there's been a TON going on. Such as:

Veteran's Day with my soldier. Kevin and I watched Taking Chance together. He didn't seem overly touched by it on any level but it touched me, deeply. I felt so lucky to have my husband and soldier home safe and unscaved. I know that I am truly blessed to have him return home to me. On the other hand I did very much miss Levi. We do every day.

Happy Veteran's Day to all our Vet's out there.

Tomorrow I start my new job! Yes, that's right all after a year of being unemployed a great opportunity has come my way! I am so grateful and excited to start this new position. It's a job that I'm familiar with; a skill that I have and if the company likes me it will be a very nice pay raise. So wish me luck! After I attend Traffic court tomorrow morning I will have half-a-day at my new job!! :)

PS: Traffic Court SUCKS!

Today is the final chapter of my relationship with Qwest. They suck. I'll be moving on. ASAP.

My sister can feel the baby move on the outside of her belly now. Nathan felt her move last night and was SOOO excited!

~***~

My BFF is PREGNANT! Yup, she's about 8 weeks along now. Due in July! Yes, you guessed it everyone around me is pregnant... but me of course.

Kevin and I have been talking a lot about what comes next for us. What we want to do next and where we want to be. Kevin and I agreed that we would both love to be stationed in Germany. We think it would be a great adventure for us. But we are still kind of in a holding pattern with Kevin's Warrant Officer application process. He has completed the Flight Physical and we are waiting for word back on that; whether or not he is "fit for flight". Fingers crossed!!!

Thankfully, I think that's all I had to catch people up on. No no... I do have to mention the release of New Moon next Friday. We are a whopping 8 days away! Yeah, I'm a loser... and I've definitely made peace with that.

You can't get rid of me that easy

So I've been Missing In Action for about two weeks. There has been so much going on in the world lately. First my new bloggy-awards... Which are just ridiculously cool (because I said so). Really I haven't been blogging because I've been told once or twice that if you have nothing nice to say, to say nothing at all. I'm not sure if it was because I was PMSing or if things were really that bad but I in fact had nothing positive to say so I said nothing! Imagine that.

I did want to share a tid-bit of news with my fellow MilSpouses (which will go a looooong way to make our lives a little bit easier): The Military Spouse Residency Relief Act (MSRRA) passed! Yes... yes it did. The bill allows military spouses to claim residency in the same state as their active duty service member! Isn't that swell. Now I only have to figure out how to change my residency? hmmm.
Just a short post to keep you interested, this afternoon. I have bills to pay, laundry to fold, dog to walk/brush... BAH! I have things to do that require me to remove myself from the laptop.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by last week’s events at Fort Hood. Including my fellow military family members there and elsewhere.

I Want it Wednesday...

I want... to unveil two new awards designed by myself and The Undomestic Army Wife, please feel free to play along:

Rules:

1: Why the person who nominated you is a "Bad Ass Bitch"
I nominate me, well because I'm the baddest-Bad Ass. I do my very best to make the best of any situation I'm faced with.
2: Why you are a "Bad Ass Bitch"
I nominated myself bc I know I'm Bad ASS.
3: Why the person you are nominating is a "Bad Ass Bitch"?
She always, always keeps it real. She's always tellin' it how it is. Plus I think her southern-charm is ADORABLE.
4. Then nominate 1 person you think is a "Bad Ass Bitch"
The ONE, the ONLY.....
Hilary (new blog title to be determined, of High Heel's and Combat Boots)

RULES:
1: Tell us what you REALLY think of the Military Wife who tagged you for this award.
Well, I think she's effin' FANTASTIC (since it was MEEE)!! :)
2: Tell us about your soldier, marine, airman, seabee, etc...
My soldier is aaaamazing (duh). Just today he was inducted into the NCO Corps. He is currently a Bradley Mechanic, but is in the throws of applying to be a helicopter pilot. Fingers crossed on that. :)
3: Tell us what you REALLY think of the Military/Deployments/Current Duty Station.
I think the Military as with most things in life has it's good and bad aspect. I LOVE the tradition (about 10 guys were "knighted" at this ceremony today- wow) the Army offers. Deployments... SUCK donkey $a!!'s, 'nuf said. Ft. Carson, is the best Hometown in the Army (so they say) Hooah. It's good because I have family around... but bad becase I desperately want to see what else the world has to offer me. I sorta want out of Colorado. Nothing to do with the duty station.

4: Tell us about your "Dream Sheet".
(*Dream sheet= top 3/5 Posts you wouldn't mind being stationed at.)
Germany
Ft. Lewis, WA.
Something on the East Coast.

5: Tell us about your #1, all-time best experience has been while married to the military.
Shoot me... I'm going to be corny and cliche right now. My best experience since marrying into this way-of-life was Kevin's Re-deployment ceremony. Being in a room surrounded by people whom all had the same feelings of excitement, relief and nervousness was overwhelming. Finding my short husband in the crowd was the sweetest feeling in the world. I've never felt so relieved in all my life. It was amazing.

6: Any ol' thing you want: Free space to discuss whatever military/ Military related business you deem necessary.
Ugh... i'll go with N/A becaues I'm pressed for time right now. Sorry... I know I suck. it's my award and I'm not participating in the rules. Free space means I reserve the right not to discuss anything. Ppsssshhht.

7: Nominate up to 3 other military wives
Thanks for becoming my friend. You're refreshing for me to be around and a great mother to Hannah! I'm happy I met you.
I find you and your hubs just ridiculously adorable and stalk (stalk, in the most non-threatening way possible)your blog. I love that you remain independent; find things (hobby's, people) that make you happy, go after them and throw yourself into them whole-heartedly. I also love that you were sucked into the Twilight madness literally overnight. :-p
Wooop Whoop. I popped your Award cherry. Shhhh, don't tell anyone- it's a secret. ;) You're a breath of fresh air and your boys are too-freaking-cute for words!

~ Sorry for the lack of spell checking. I'm forced to go pick-up dinner.

PS:

OOO, Forgot to mention tomorrow I will be unveiling not 1 but 2 new blogger awards!

Stay tuned!

Weekend in Review

First, I wanted to point out that my hubby is at PT at 530 (Local/Colorado time); Granny is in New Jersey (NJ) where they are 2 hours ahead= 730 AM! (-;

Okie dokie, I'm not sure how you all spent your weekend or what you did. *wink wink* But mine started off dragging (just about literally) Kevin to the doctor. You see, he's been sick since Tuesday. He went to sick call where the PA didn't deem him sick enough to actually see him. The medic sent him back to regular duty with some useless scripts. Come Saturday morning and he was still coughing up a lung... yes, I MADE him go to the doctor. The Urgent Care place I went to last time. The doc was originally very concerned about Flu. Thankfully, he tested negative for both seasonal and H1N1 flues. So the doc sent us on our way with an antibiotic for either walking pneumonia or bronchitis. She said that it wouldn't be necessary to do the x-ray (in order to confirm pneumonia) because the meds that were prescribed treat both.

So our Halloween plans were canceled and we laid around the house. Kevin had a few hot-totties and we watched some TV. We had no candy but that worked out we didn't have not even one trick or treater! Phew... bullet-dodged!

PS: When I was at wally-world picking up Kevin’s prescriptions there was a MOUSE running around the Pharmacy and waiting area! yuck.
Sunday consisted of the laziest day in a long time. We hung around the house again. That basically sums it up. Hey, no reason I shouldn’t rest because Kevin was sick- right?

Today is my Daddy's birthday! Tonight I'm having everyone over for dinner. My Dad is one of my favorite people on the planet. I've always been a Daddy's girl.

Love you Pops! HAPPY BIRTHDAY
