Given this video and my husband's post's proximity to the US Embassy in Kabul I am very grateful he's currently in Kuwait on his way home to me. However, it's frightening to think he'll be headed back there in two weeks.

You're not an Asshole, you are human. :) We all get excited about silly things in the midst of stressful situations.
Reality checks are needed in life, but it's ok to be excited about something you love with all you have on your plate, and it doesn't matter what that thing is.
